On October 15 the Governor General of Canada, Michaëlle Jean, hosted a ceremony at Rideau Hall focusing on the history and legacy of the Indian Residential Schools and relaunched the Indian Residential Schools Truth and
Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
Sioux Lookout resident Garnet Angeconeb, a residential school survivor, joined other residential school survivors in attendance for the special ceremony.
